Even though when I was in school computers were just coming into the picture and I did not want to have anything to do with them; I found myself working on them for the past 26 years at my job. I had to pretty much learn everything on my own. From the first day of trying to get the mouse to stop moving all over the screen to learning multiple different programs, the journey has been memorable. But the Technology class at Trinity Christian College put me to shame as I had no idea that there were so many incredible digital learning tools out there. I had seen the Skype learning and had many on-line classes where there would be video-recorded lessons, but I had no idea how the teacher programmed them.
This class has shown me so many different methods to do so. I plan on utilizing the Sreencastify and Nearpods, where I can record a presentation of an art process. This would be an excellent opportunity to delve deep into the process with great detail and provide numerous examples the students could use for their projects without me having to repeat the process for every classroom.
The students would have a greater understanding of the project because I could spend more time in all the phases and cut out portions to get the completed works.
I plan on looking into more programs and ideas through Twitter. There are some excellent art teachers out there with terrific ideas that they are working on with their students that would be a tremendous help. Not only can you view their posts about the work they are doing but you can also give input, ask a question and get advice from other art professionals which is a huge advantage of the times we live in today. Technology in Education has really brought learning to a completely new and exciting level and I am happy it was available to me. I cannot wait to learn more art programs that I can share with my students.

I found this very inspiring post on twitter from Edgewood Library talking about kindergarteners creating and illustrating their own "How To" books in the @BookCreatorApp. I thought, "WOW kindergarteners"! Using technology in a way to broaden their mind by making up a story and imagining what that story would look like in illustrations and then writing their story and bringing it to life from their imagination. I'm sure the teachers and parents are very proud of them and they should be of themselves as well.
